Balkan eight countries

This trip was organised once previously in 2015.

This is an energetic tour through eight different Balkan countries, each with its own people, culture, religion, language, landscape and infrastructure. However, with Habsburg, Turkish and Communist domination, the turbulent past of each of those countries links their histories to one another. The violent disintegration of former Yugoslavia took place already almost 25 years ago. Only Kosovo's right to exist is still contested by Serbia.

You will find stunning nature in Montenegro and an adventurous infrastructure in Albania. You will discover Zagreb, the cosmopolitan capital of Croatia, and explore the lake of Ohrid in Macedonia, once a flourishing tourist attraction. If the political situation allows, you can also remove Pristina from your ‘bucket list’ of capital cities. In Albania we board the overnight ferry to Italy.

This comprehensive tour gives you much more than a passing acquaintance with the wealth of faces that make up the Balkans. As an extra, we pay a lightning visit to the San Marino mini theatre in Italy. We end the tour in the Dolomites.
