Togo Benin Adventure

The contact with Motor Trails was really nice. Guillaume is a nice guy with a lot of experience and knows the area well. He has a French temperament and does not really like speaking English but he does speak it reasonably well, which is fine in itself. The main language of the group was French and that is why Guillaume also did the explanation in French. At the moments when the explanation was not completely repeated in English, I was sometimes a bit surprised about what we were going to do. I generally found the trip really nice and pleasant. The highlights were the villages we drove through and the smiling and waving people/children. Also the waterfall, the hills in Togo, the small winding roads, the sandy paths, the mud roads, the baobabs and the other beautiful trees. As an improvement point, the pace could be a bit slower in my opinion.

The contact with Motor Trails was 10/10, as always. The tour guide was also 10/10, Guillaume knows the local catering and infrastructure very well. The trip was very adventurous and very varied in a beautiful country. It was a small group, but that was not negative. The highlights were the varied off-road routes and driving through the remote villages. As an improvement point perhaps slightly longer lunch breaks, we now sometimes arrived early at the hotels.

'Contact with Motor Trails was very professional and quick answers to all questions. The trip was one of our best trips ever! The tour leader was a great guide, knows the countries very well, beautiful tracks and slopes, sometimes a little nervous, but we wouldn't want to miss him. Highlights were the country, the people, the guide. There's nothing to improve!'
Michel Donck - Togo Benin - November 2023

'The contact with Motor Trails was great. The trip was great. The tour guide was fantastic. Highlights were the Beautiful climax. Very satisfied across the board...impossible to indicate areas for improvement...'
Frank Dedecker - Togo Benin - November 2023

"The contact with Motor Trails was excellent. All three of us experienced it as a great trip. It was above our expectations in terms of routes and culture. Tour leader was an excellent guide. The driver and support car were also great. Highlights were the cultural sights, different routes and the fact that we came so close to African culture. Motorcycles could be a bit more modern, but we have already discussed that with Guilaume and the political situation that makes investing uncertain. All in all we had a great trip. to the next one!”
Peter Stijkel - Togo Benin - March 2023

"Contact with Motortrails was minimal, I registered online and Motortrails (as always) sent all the information neatly. There were no more questions from my side, so everything was clearly stated in the travel booklet. The trip was very beautiful and interesting. In my experience, Togo and Benin is really 'old-fashioned' Africa. For me, certainly above expectations. Guillaume and his team did their work perfectly, never in the foreground, but everything was well organised. If anything On our part there was a question or an adjustment, he arranged this without discussing it. Great! One of the highlights are clearly the residents of Togo and Benin, all cheerful and waving as you drive by. The small authentic villages continue to amaze. And the Voodoo is special to experience. And of course the lack of asphalt, which meant that at least 90% was off-road.
The motorcycles... Only if you like unrestored vintage cars, they are nice motorcycles... But they were also the only off-road motorcycles we have seen. There are probably no newer ones to be found in these countries and it did not detract from this trip. In short, I really enjoyed it again and see you next time!"
