Chile Argentina Patagonia

What customers wrote about us:

"This motorcycle trip was even better than I expected! Partly due to the excellent tour guide Bart, physically it was difficult but doable, excellent accommodation and the scenery was breathtaking. New Zealand is fantastic but parts of the Chile Argentina were well worth the money for this unique motorcycle tour experience! In terms of weather, we were lucky, but one day of rain, the advantage of traveling from south to north is that it gets warmer, the scenery becomes more beautiful and the rides shorter. Highlights I found the rides through the national parks, the glacier El Calafate and the very varied landscape. Points for improvement, better coordination between the agents so that there is no discussion along the way. In addition, I would advise against the CBX500 for this motorcycle ride, the suspension is not strong enough for the roads. Afterwards, we had to pay the motor renter for damage, including to the rims, this was not pleasant. But all in all I had a great motorcycle trip and will definitely go with Motor Trails again! "

"This motorcycle trip was very good. It was a nice trip, pleasant group atmosphere. Wonderful support by Bart the driver of the support car, Bart is the tour guide of Motortrails. There was no real highlight. Everything was beautiful. Bart the tour guide is worth gold. If point for improvement better communication between the partners and better “insurance” of the motorcycles. Mandatory statement of credit card number and CVC code is legal and dangerous for fraud. In addition, the return of double payment was slow. "
Herman Loots - Chile Argentina Patagonia North to South - January 2020

"Beautiful scenery,  a good mix of on-and off-road routes however not a lot of contact with locals. During our motorbike ride we had fantastic weather and we experienced changing countryside. At the end of the day the highlight was the view from my bed overlooking a lake with high mountains around it. Eduardo, our tourguide was friendly however not real a tourguide.  Christiaan the other man was not a tourguide at all.  There was no mechanic on this journey. However I think this is necessary as maintenance has to be done during the trip.  Funds and cash for group expenses  were unfortunately not well organised. Contact with the MotorTrails office in Amsterdam was perfect. "

"This motorbiketour was a wonderful adventure. So glad that I finally could join this tour. The highlight for me was the fact that after more than 2 weeks of being on the road finally I arrived at the end of the world. Lars, the tour guide was very good. At the start of  each day he gave us enough information about what we could expect and see. He acted professionaly when one of our motorbikes fell and broke his leg. Further the motorbikes were regularly maintained. Contact with the office was a good."
Fred Wessels - Chile and Argentina-Patagonia - January 2018

“As usual, the contact with Motortrails was excellent.  They responded quickly to emails.  It is a beautiful tour; you obviously come across a little less culture than on other tours, but the fantastic nature more than compensated for that. The first part of the trip very much resembled a trip through the Alps, but it’s during the second part you truly start experiencing Patagonia.  Amazing to ride through that alien desolation. In short: again, seen a lot, did a lot of different things, experienced a lot. As far as I’m concerned, there is no need for 5 star hotels such as the ones in Osorno and Rio Grande.  I always find them a bit stiff and cold.  I prefer a slightly lower rated hotel, more fun and for less money. The greatest day was the slipping and sliding on the dirt road.  Because of the mud it became impossible to ride any further.  So we had to improvise, as carrying on riding the bikes was no option. A Motortrails-worthy day! Other highlights, beside that, are Fitz Roy, Perito Moreno, Torres del Paine, and the walk past the penguins. And finally, the way the group gelled that too was a highlight of this tour. Tour guide Bart is a nice guy.“

“It was a fantastic journey, as far as the countryside was concerned the first week wasn’t particularly remarkable, but the 2nd and 3rd weeks definitely were very special. Points for improvement:  If possible, make first week more challenging. Option to take boat to Antarctica.  Highlights Fitz Roy, Perito Moreno, Ushuaia.  Tour guide Bart is good, sometimes a bit self absorbed.”
Guido Kuijken - Patagonia Motortour 2012

“I thought the contact was middling, contact beforehand in Netherlands was via email only which I didn’t like as I don’t read my mails every day.
Highlights are the 2nd glacier and the southernmost headland (both of which were my goal). Mission accomplished, I have reached the most southerly point of South America!”
Sietze Douma - Patagonia Motortour 2012

“Contact is good. The trip is superb.  Highlights are too many to mention. Tour guide Bart is tops.”
Jeroen de Reus - Patagonia Motortour  2012

“Contact as such is good. Did find info regarding flights a bit minimal. Compliments for the package as a whole. It is a fantastic, stimulating tour in accordance with expectations.  To improve:  I would change the route. Ushuaia at the end, Torres del Paine after Fitz Roy.  Highlights are area around Bariloche, Fitz Roy, Pepito Moreno, Beagle Canal, Penguin Island and Torres del Paine. Many incidental nature pearls besides. Tour guide Bart excellent, well informed. A bit judgemental sometimes. Kept up a pretty good tempo and made sure rooms etc were all well provided. Mechanic was a kind of second tour guide, which worked well (very experienced, hence)”
Norbert van der Hoek - Patagonia Motortour 2012

“The trip was fantastic!  A bit harder than I had anticipated, but it made the lukewarm shower and the glass of wine so much the more enjoyable when we still managed to have a good day in spite of it being difficult.  Contact is good, always got quick response and good answers.”
Henk van Zuilekom - Patagonia Motortour 2009

“Was given all necessary information, and it was all as should be. The tour really is very beautiful, fantastic motoring.”
Theo Asma - Patagonia Motortour 2009

“Contact is good, I am very happy with it.  The tour is perfect. It was the journey of my life.  Well organised and a very good programme.”
Willem van Keulen - Patagonia Motortour 2009

Contact is easy and informal.  The tour fulfilled our expectations, under knowledgeable and pleasant leadership.”
Jan Thomassen - Patagonia Motortour 2009

“The trip was magnificent. So amazing, difficult to put in words. It really was what I had imagined it to be. Lots of motoring, unmade roads, not too tiring, and for me - a reasonably fit 49 year old, definitely manageable.”
Ad Bouman - Patagonia Motortour 2008

“We’re back from the fantastic Patagonia tour. Magnificent routes, a good tour leader and a sociable group of people. Excellent mechanic who certainly had his work cut out in the beginning. Enjoyed leadership from Maaike, also at Schiphol. Everything very well organised. We really enjoyed it enormously!”
