Motorcycles
During this trip you will ride an Enfield Himalaya 400cc motorcycle or similar.  

Difficulty of the trip 
During this trip through Ecuador we drive through very varied areas and climate zones. Sometimes the route goes over good asphalt roads, gravel paths and then over stony mountain roads through tropical forests and over mountain passes above 4,000 meters. The daily distances are sometimes long, but there is usually enough time to stop along the way.

Overnight stays
We spend the night in middle-class hotels. These are beautiful hotels in Ecuador with a private bathroom and toilet. 

Clothing
A helmet is mandatory, as well as protective clothing with protectors, good gloves and boots or sturdy shoes. Due to the warm temperature in the north, it is advisable to bring breathable protective clothing. In the mountains you need warmer clothing, here it sometimes becomes 1 or 2 degrees above 0 during the day. It is also advisable to take a light rain suit with you for the mountains. 

Insurance
The motorcycles are provided with standard third party liability insurance. This insurance covers physical damage to third parties. Material damage to third parties is not insurable in Ecuador. Damage to the motorcycle is not covered by basic insurance. Damage caused to the motorcycle by yourself is at your own expense. 

Visa
You do not need to apply for a visa in advance for Ecuador. Upon arrival at the airport you will receive a stamp in your passport that allows you to stay in the country for three weeks.

Driving license
A valid motorcycle license is required to participate in this trip, as well as an international driver's license. At the ANWB you can buy an international driver's license that is valid for Ecuador.
