Travel guide
This trip will be accompanied by our Dutch guide.
Support car
During this trip a support car will be driving along from 6 participants. This is driven by a local driver. The follow-up car will transport the luggage, parts and tools. From 4 participants this trip can take place but without a follow-up car, the luggage will then be taken along in two side bags on the motorbike.
Difficulty and offroad
During this trip through the north of the Philippines, we ride a lot between 1000 and 2400 meters altitude and sometimes through fairly deserted areas. We ride on light motorcycles that make the trip very accessible even for riders who have never made an adventure motorcycle trip. The daily distances vary, but there is always time and opportunity to stop along the way to take pictures or visit villages. You should take into account that on the main roads that we avoid as much as possible, it can be busy with trucks that do not take the traffic rules very seriously.
Accommodation
Most overnight stays are in well-maintained and clean hotels, resorts or cottages, some of which are in a special location. A few overnight stays are basic, that is to say simple, as there is no alternative in the area.
Climate
The tour is in the dry season with a temperature around 32 degrees, however, we also ride a lot in the mountains and can be slightly cold when it’s cloudy or raining. Raining in the dry season in the mountains can be possible.
Clothing
Mandatory are a helmet, motorcycle jacket with protection, gloves, good sturdy (motorcycle) pants with protection or with loose knee protection and sturdy high (mountain) shoes. Luzon has a tropical climate without a clear difference between the seasons. Most rain falls between May and November. During this period, tropical storms and hurricanes can also occur. We plan our trips for this or after. A summer motorcycle jacket with protection is recommended. Furthermore, good sunglasses are useful and a helmet with a visor that protects against dust. However, the weather can ignore all forecasts, so you should take a possible rain shower into account on all trips.
Visa
No visa is required for the Philippines. On arrival, Dutch and Belgian citizens receive a free visa that is valid for 30 days. More details about the trip and what to bring can be found in the travel guide that you will receive approximately one month before departure.
